Stanley has recalled 500,000 of its popular Quencher H2.0 tumblers after testing revealed lead levels in the lid's vacuum seal component that exceed California Prop 65 limits.
The Issue
The lead is contained within the stainless steel vacuum seal and is not normally accessible during regular use. However, if the seal is damaged or the lid is dropped, lead-containing pellets can become exposed.
What to Do
Stanley is offering free replacement lids for all affected units. Consumers should check the serial number on their tumbler base against the recall list on Stanley's website.
