A social media-famous air fryer brand that racked up millions in sales through influencer promotions has received disappointing scores in independent consumer testing. The appliance, which retails for $199, was outperformed by models costing less than half the price in every major category including cooking evenness, temperature accuracy, and build quality.
Testers found that the unit's actual cooking temperature deviated by as much as 40 degrees from the digital display reading, leading to inconsistent results. The nonstick basket coating also showed signs of wear after just 50 uses during the evaluation period.
Consumer advocates are urging shoppers to consult independent reviews rather than relying on social media endorsements when purchasing kitchen appliances, noting that paid promotions rarely disclose performance limitations.
