One of Chicago's most beloved deep dish pizza institutions has announced plans to open three locations in California by the end of 2026. The 45-year-old pizzeria, known for its buttery cornmeal crust and chunky tomato sauce, will debut in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.

Ownership stressed that every location will use the same proprietary dough recipe and source identical ingredients, including the specific blend of Wisconsin mozzarella that has defined the restaurant's signature pie for decades.

The announcement has generated intense excitement among expatriate Chicagoans on the West Coast, though some deep dish purists have expressed skepticism about whether the experience can truly be replicated outside the Windy City.
